Ebb And Flow
Everything moves with ebbs and flows.
Like the ocean’s tide, your energy, creativity, motivation, productivity, relationships, and even progress in your Pursuit move in highs (flow) and lows (ebb). These highs and lows are not good or bad but are indications of when to go hard (high) or pull back and rest (low).
When you find your Self running low on energy, it might mean you need to evaluate your sleep, nutrition, or overall health, OR it might mean you have just come out of a period of high energy and your body needs to recover for the next period of high energy.
In contrast, when you find your Self running on high energy, you should push a little harder in order to maximize the additional energy you have—this is when the most progress and growth is made.
When you find your Self running low on creativity, it might mean you have just come out of a period of high creativity and your Inner Creator needs to refill for the next period of high creativity.
In contrast, when you find your Self running high on creativity, you should enjoy the flow of ideas and create as much as you can—this is when creating is easiest and your best work is done.
I could continue with more examples, but I think you get the point.
In times of “ebb”, you should pull back and not force your Self—it doesn’t mean completely stop and wait but just recognize you’re in a refueling state, enjoy the break, and get ready for the next big push.
In times of “flow”, you should push harder recognizing your Self is in a state ready to produce—things will seem easier during these times which will help you recognize you’re in a flow state and you should enjoy these times, maximize your growth, and understand it will eventually come to a momentary pause.
As you become more aware of your states of ebb and flow, you will be able to use them to your advantage. You might find your Self in an ebb state in one area and a flow in another state—by recognizing this you can embrace the ebb state and shift your energy to where you are in flow which allows you to maximize the flow by not wasting energy in the ebb.
The better you become at reading your Self, the better you will be at distributing your energy and attention to the areas of your life in flow and allowing your Self to rest in the areas in ebb, which is an efficient and effective way to move through life.
See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,
