Opting In
Many of us did not opt in to the path we find our Self on—it may have been chosen, or greatly influenced, by others. You might see a different path that leads to a more fulfilled, happier, impactful, and authentic life but continue just to see it, rather than experience it.
If you did not opt in to your current path, you have the choice to opt out of it—and even if you initially chose the path you find your Self on, you still have the right and the ability to opt out for the new one you see for your Self…there is no rule that states you must stay on the path you are on if it is no longer right for you.
But don’t be mistaken, opting out means you are OPTING IN to something new.
The decision and act of opting out is not a carefree decision that should be taken lightly or done on a whim. When you make the decision to opt out of the path no longer meant for you, there are trade-offs, sacrifices, and new challenges that come with the new life you are opting in to. Opting out involves planning, internal work on your Self, conversations—potentially tough ones—with those impacted by the decision, and the understanding that opting out is not an act of running away but moving towards a new and better life—your authentic life.
I want to repeat that one more time…opting out is not a decision to run away but one to run towards.
See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,
