In The Dark
“Sometimes when you’re in a dark place you think you’ve been buried, but you’ve actually been planted.”
- Christine Cane
“Damn.”
That’s precisely what I said out loud as I read it upon opening my meditation app. Thankfully, I don’t have a lot of experience feeling buried in darkness but when I read Cane’s words I was able to imagine myself in the dark and how it would be to feel lost, without hope, desperate, and as if I would never find my way out of the darkness.
It’s a feeling and place I hope to never experience.
When I allowed my Self to shift my perspective from being buried and doomed to having just been planted and at the beginning of a growth spurt I immediately felt a sense of hope and excitement come over my body.
It’s amazing the energy shift that can occur just by looking at a situation through a different lens:
Being buried in the ground can be representative of death, suffocation, never getting out, and decay.
Being planted in the ground can be representative of life, new beginnings, growth, and beauty.
Two different perspectives with drastically different outcomes and energy, yet both start in the same position.
You may not have the ability to control the life experiences that have led you to the dark. But, you do have the ability to control how you view where you sit in the dark. You do have the ability to control your energy while sitting in the dark. You do have the ability to control if your time in the dark is being buried or being planted.
The choice you make will determine the energy you put out, which will either attract growth or keep you buried.
See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,
