Wasted Hours

“A man who dares to waste an hour of time has not discovered the value of his life.”

-Charles Darwin

I waste a lot less time now than I used.

This shift began as I started down the path of pursuing my authentic life, reprioritizing where I allocated my time to match my ideal day, and it accelerated once I realized I was supposed to help others find and live their authentic life, trimming the activities that did not align with my mission.

Looking back, I don’t think I lacked value of my life–I just didn’t know where I could provide the greatest value to the world.

I first had to stop looking for my lane in the world and find my lane within; once I found my Self, my value to the world became apparent (and obvious), which gave each hour greater purpose.

While I’m not perfect and do find some hours during the week wasted, I’m improving and know where I should be allocating my time:

  • Self (spirit, mind, body, creativity, and even rest)

  • Family

  • Clients and Advisor Community

  • Communicating my message

  • Learning

I’m sure I’m leaving out something, and I’m not diving into the subcategories of each, but for the most part, time spent that cannot be allocated into one of these categories is a waste.

How would you categorize and allocate your time to begin reducing the wasted time in your life, bringing you closer to the value of your life?

See you tomorrow and keep pursuing
