You Are A Creative Being

You may not identify as creative, but you are a creative being.

We all are.

Creativity is not limited to a select few blessed to have the ability to express their Selves creatively. Creativity is not limited to art, music, photography, or any of the other traditional creative outlets. And creativity is not limited to your personal life and interests.

Tapping into your inner Creator is important because it is another way for you to connect to your spiritual Self, which can act as a guide, bringing you closer to your authentic life, strengthening your alignment of spirit, mind, and body, or both.

If you don’t identify as creative and have lost that connection to your inner Creator—this was once me—allow your Self to explore creative interests that you’ve kept hidden away. Maybe you start with traditional creative outlets like writing or drawing just to reignite the creative spark. Once you have that spark, allow your creativity to guide you to new creative outlets until you find your “thing.”

Start small.
20 minutes a day of creative time.
Build from there.

Create for you first. Don’t worry about your new creative initiative and how the world will receive it; you don’t have to share what you create with others–you are creating to strengthen you connection with your spiritual Self. Eventually, you might want to share your creative work with the world–I encourage you to do so when you feel like the time is right, but don’t put that pressure on your Self at the beginning. Get reacquainted with your inner Creator—you once knew her very well as a child–for your personal growth and Pursuit.

Julia Cameron, the author of The Artist’s Way, describes the importance of creativity beautifully,

“When we move toward our own creativity, we move toward our Creator. When we seek to become more spiritual, we find ourselves becoming more creative. Our creativity and our spirituality are so closely interconnected they are in effect one and the same thing. Speaking of God, we often use the words “Maker” or “Creator” without recognizing that those terms are the for “artist.” God is the Great Artist. We are creations and we are intended, in turn, to be creative ourselves.”

See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,

JC
