Synchronicity With Other People
Last evening, I was sitting in my car, Silas asleep in his car seat, while Roman was inside training for basketball. Out of the blue, I received a text message from a friend/mentor with a voice note attached–we hadn’t been texting, and it’s been a little while since we’d caught up, so the text was totally unexpected.
I immediately put my book down and listened to the voice note. The words my friend spoke were exactly what I needed to hear yesterday–he knew I needed to hear what he shared and he knew it before I did.
I listened to the voice note twice.
The first time I listened, I was excited to hear from him, but I wasn’t sure exactly why he shared with me what he did–his words didn’t immediately connect with me. The second time I listened, though, it all clicked, and I got goosebumps as I listened to my friend share his words of wisdom and encouragement with me.
I sent a voice note back to him and sat in my car for a while, thinking about what he had shared and how he knew exactly the right time to send me a message.
Last night, there was a synchronicity between the two of us, despite having gone a couple of months without really taking and being across the country from each other.
I imagine I popped into his mind, and he felt this urge to share some words of encouragement and support with me–I guess this is how it played out for him because I experience this as well. And maybe you do, too…out of the blue, someone you haven’t talked about or even thought about pops into your mind, and you have this feeling in your heart to reach out to them or maybe even something to tell them. You’re not sure why you have this feeling, but it’s there and it won’t go away.
I always try to act on those moments of synchronicity with others because I believe there is a reason I am thinking about them.
I share this story to encourage you never to let those random moments of synchronicity pass–reach out to that person and share what is in your heart–even if you don’t know why you’re sharing it. There is a higher power orchestrating the connection, and you won’t believe the impact your words will have when you relay the message.
Moments of synchronicity like the one I experienced are extremely powerful and the more you recognize and act upon them, the more often they occur, and the synchronicity spreads to other areas of your life.
To my friend who sent the voice note…thank you again.
See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,
JC
