Past Performance

In finance, we have a disclaimer that you’ve probably read or heard before, “past performance doesn’t guarantee future results.” This disclaimer is meant to ensure investors understand that just because an investment did good (or bad) in the past, it does not mean that it will do the same in the future.

This disclaimer applies to YOU as you pursue your authentic life as well.

Your past does not guarantee YOUR future results and it does not have to limit where you go on your Pursuit. Your past will certainly shape who you are today and may influence where you go on your Pursuit but it does not have to keep you from reaching the version of your Self and the authentic life you were meant to live.

I say “does not have to” because it certainly can if you allow it.

The experiences of your past shape how you see your Self, talk to your Self, and what you believe is possible in your life. The trauma, “failures”, and interactions of your past life limit you from believing you can become who you feel you are meant to be and your past performance does become your future results.

But, what is in the past is in the past and does not have to become your future. You are in control of your Pursuit and you have the ability, although it may not be easy, to remind your Self that your past performance doesn’t guarantee your future results”.

You can change your path, pursue your authentic life, and become your true Self—and the world needs you to do so.

See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,

JC
