“it’s time” (a poem)
you wake each morning
hit the alarm, get out of bed, start your day
thankful to see another
thankful but also wishing it was a day that excites you
a day full of passion
a day of impacting the lives of others
a day of walking in your destiny steps
a day of purpose
it’s time…
deep down you feel like you have more to offer
nah, you know you have more to offer
more to create
more purpose to realize
more to become
more to be
you have a life that you were created to live
a life unique to you
a life only you can fully and properly experience
a life that brings the best version of YOU to the world
a life authentic to you
your authentic life
it’s time…
you feel your authentic life calling you
the universe is giving you signs showing you the way
those aren’t coincidences
those are confirmations
but you fall back into the comfort of the status quo
a status quo chosen for you by others
your authentic life stays hidden beneath the costume you put on each morning
before you leave the house, you check the mirror
making sure you present as you’ve been told
knowing that is not the truest version of your Self
it’s time…
it’s time to shed the costume
time to drop society’s life for you
time to embrace who you were created to be
time to live authentically
it’s time to live your authentic life
it’s time…
not sure how to bring your authentic life out?
the answer is easy
alignment
alignment of spirit, mind, and body
all three are important, but must flow in that order.
find the your authentic way to align spirit, mind, and body
there is no right way
watch synchronicity take over in your life
with alignment your Higher Power will guide you
as long as you are present enough and open to feel and see the signs
it’s time…
it’s time to shed the costume
time to drop society’s life for you
time to embrace who you were created to be
time to live authentically
it’s time to live your authentic life
it’s time…
you owe it to your Self
you owe it to your family
you owe it your friends
you owe it to the world
to live your authentic life
it’s time…
This was inspired by the second talk in the Keep Pursuing Series, "finding your authentic life".
This is also an example of what exploring and experimenting can look like; I have no idea whether or not my poetry is "good"--I know it's not the stereotypical rhyming poetry we all are familiar with, but it's a form of expression I'm intrigued by, enjoy, and for now want to do more of.
These poems, this is my second one, are being created with no expectations in mind, other than can I take the Keep Pursuing talks and communicate the message through a poem?
I'd never know if I didn't try!
See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,
JC
