Embrace Bordem
When was the last time you were bored?
Like, really bored. Not bored scrolling through social media or flipping through the TV, but bored with nothing but your thoughts–I’m guessing it’s been a while. Thanks to the convenience of our addiction to smartphones and tablets we’re quick to fill any downtime with Twitter, Instagram, or TikTok.
What if you gave your brain a break from all of the stimulation?
You might find new ideas.
You might learn more about our interests.
You might finally find time to do some writing, sketching, or other creative outlets.
You might just give our brains a chance to rest…and who knows what could come from that.
A little bit of boredom is a good thing. It gives us a chance to digest all of the world’s excitement, dream up new ideas, and just take a break–we’re not meant to always be on. The next time you find yourself with a moment with nothing to do, do nothing.
Just sit there and observe. If you can, head outside, sit in the sun, listen to nature, and just soak it all in. If you’re lucky to find yourself in the Midwest during winter, sit inside, listen to the quiet, and just be.
Allow your brain a chance to wind itself down and just be bored–after doing this a couple of times you might just find yourself making more time for boredom.
The more time you spend “bored” the easier it will be to connect with your inner Self, your mind, and your spirit. The constant pressure to being doing something or the call of our devices could be one of the major contributors to your inability to connect and align your spirit, mind, and body and finding your authentic life.
See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,
