Where Fear Ends

“Fear ends where faith begins.”

I was lying down in savasana during yesterday’s yoga class and I noticed this message on the woman practicing next to me’s water bottle.

Since it was a moment of rest, I had a moment to sit with the quote.

I naturally thought about my favorite quote of 2022:

“There’s beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown.”

-Kendrick Lamar

Fear keeps many of us in situations we wish we could escape.

The fear of the unknown. The fear of change. The fear of finding happiness. The fear of success.

As my barber pointed out to me one Friday, fear is nothing more than False. Evidence. Appearing. Real.

Fear has served the human species well over time. Our ancestors’ fear kept them alive and allowed us to evolve, survive, and thrive. There are still times today when fear kicks us into fight or flight and keeps us out of harms way. Not all fear is bad.

However, the majority of fear today is manufactured.

It’s manufactured by family, friends, the media, and our own minds…it’s not real.

If there is something you want to do or a new path you want to pursue, but fear is keeping you in a holding pattern, remember most fear is manufactured and with preparation, planning, and faith you can address the thoughts leading to your fear.

As Kendrick and the sticker told us, we should have faith in “unknown”, not fear.

See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,

JC
