The Evolving Self
Achieving a state of contentment does not mean maintaining the status quo of that version of your Self. While you find your Self content in that moment, discontentment will eventually return if you do not allow your Self to continue to grow.
One of our primary purposes in our time on earth is to learn–and to continue to learn. This requires us to evolve as we learn new information. Sitting in the status quo interrupts our growth and evolution, bringing frustration, unhappiness, and that feeling of being “stuck” that plagues many people.
Finding contentment is a great goal, especially regarding material possessions like cars, houses, shoes, jewelry, etc., and even money; finding contentment with what you possess is healthy. But, stifling your personal growth because you are content is a recipe for allowing the lower frequency emotions of discontentment into your life.
One disclaimer: allowing your Self to continue to grow, even when you are content, does not necessarily mean you have to force growth on your Self either. There is an unhealthy obsession with growth that can be just as painful as allowing your Self to plateau. Like most things in life, a healthy balance can be found by allowing your personal growth and evolution to unfold naturally, guided by the cues you receive from your spirit, mind, and body.
Don’t allow your Self to plateau as a result of achieving a state of contentment; maintaining your contentment is a fluid process and will evolve along with you if you allow it.
See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,
