Are You Living Someone Else’s Life?

Today is game day.

This evening, I will give the first talk in the Keep Pursuing Series, entitled “are you living someone else’s life?” My hope for the talk is that I am able to impact those in attendance in one of a few ways–these are also goals for these Daily Notes, the videos I create, and the podcast (which will be back soon!):

  • bring awareness to those who may have never even considered the life they are experiencing isn’t what they would choose for their Self, if given the opportunity.

  • encourage those who have begun to question or wonder if they are experiencing the authentic version of their Self to keep exploring and asking questions.

  • Give confidence to those who KNOW the changes they want to make but just need a little boost to set them into motion.

One of the things that will make tonight’s talk, along with the following four talks, unique is that it will not end with an answer for the audience. I do not have the answer to exactly how they should determine whose life they are actually living. I do not have the answer for what changes they should consider making, if any at all. I do not have the answer for how they should make those changes.

This is because there is not a single universal answer to give.

Each individual in attendance has their own authentic life to live, which means where they are in their journey, and the answers will be unique to them. All I can do is bring awareness to the possibilities and share my experiences, along with the experiences of others, to help them begin to find their way.

I’ll be sharing more from the talk in the future, including a recording of it in its entirety on YouTube and the podcast, so if you aren’t one of the 25 in attendance, you’ll still be able to receive the message.

I will leave you with one of the “tests” that I will explore with the group this evening.

I call it the “feel test”.

Some individuals will feel that something else is out there waiting for them. This feeling is not something I can describe, other than when you feel it, you know it–there’s a chance you might have already experienced it. The closest description I can come up with for internal feeling is that it feels very similar to when your intuition is guiding you–that gut feeling, although this feeling is stronger.

I don’t have any proof, but I think most people ignore the feeling, which can be easy to do because it’s only you who feels it–no one else can see that you are feeling called to explore a different version of your Self, and certainly no one else can feel that feeling for you.

When you feel that feeling, I encourage you to follow where it guides you. Exploring where the feeling takes you does not mean you have to make any changes or that you cannot remain on the path you find comfortable, BUT I’m willing to bet you will learn more about your Self and want to experience the new paths you are brought to.

See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,

JC
