Allowing Your Self To Be Great
How “great*” could you be if you would just allow your Self to be?
*great is defined by YOU, not anyone else.
You are capable of more than you believe, but it requires a little faith to realize your inner greatness—faith in your Creator and your Self.
Look around for examples of individuals who have achieved lives that others dismiss as “lucky” or unbelievable.
One of my favorite examples is the basketball trainer Chris Brickley. His passion for basketball took him from playing Division 1 basketball to becoming the youngest Division 1 assistant coach to getting in at the ground level with the New York Knicks to working out Carmelo Anthony to driving around the country to work out other NBA players to becoming the go-to trainer for NBA stars, top college and high school recruits, and having endorsement deals with Puma and NBA 2k.
Everyone who follows the NBA closely knows Chris Brickley, yet he’s never played a minute in the NBA.
Brickley recognized the greatness within, trusted in his Self, put in the hard work (don’t forget this part), and ignored all of the doubters.
We all have a Chris Brickley within us; the only difference is that he allowed his greatness to shine through, and many of us talk our Selves out of ever letting a glimmer of our greatness out.
So, ask your Self, “How great could I be if I would only let my Self?”
Sit with that vision, feel how it feels to be that version of your Self, and consider if it’s worth pursuing it with faith in your Self that you can achieve that life.
See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,
