Resets
Resets are going to happen in life.
Even the most disciplined individual is going to have periods when they fall out of their routine. I don’t care what you might hear in interviews; the most disciplined individual is not following their routine and living their habits perfectly every day. At some point, life will interfere with everyone’s routine.
What the disciplined do better than most is they get back to their routine quickly—they don’t wait around to hit the reset button and return to the habits, practices, and routines that help them be their best Self.
I’m currently in reset mode.
Over the last couple of weeks, I haven’t had consistency on the personal activities that are most important to me, being my best Self—meditating daily, yoga four times a week, going to the gym three times a week, and eating mostly clean. And I can feel it…I can feel that my body is not in alignment with my spirit and mind, and I’m certain that if I don’t bring my body back in alignment, the momentum that I’ve been experiencing as of late in all areas of my life will slow down.
I can look at the last couple of weeks and blame travel, last-minute decisions to create memories with the boys, and clients' unexpected needs for not prioritizing the activities that I KNOW help me be the best version of my Self. There may be some truth behind those excuses, but allowing my Self to hide behind them will only keep me from getting back to prioritizing those important activities.
So I hit reset.
When you notice your Self falling out of alignment because you are not following your routine, practicing your habits, and doing the activities that allow you to be your best Self, don’t talk negatively to your Self and just quickly hit the reset button.
The sooner you recognize the misalignment and reset, the sooner you’ll be back to the YOU the world needs and you deserve.
See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,
