Infinite Ways To Manifest Your Goals
Unlike what most “experts” suggest, there are infinite ways for you to achieve your goals. Whether it’s losing weight, starting a business, being a better partner, or taking control of your life, there is not ONE way to do anything. There are no absolutes in this world, although our bookstores are filled with books written with the “one, correct way” for you to achieve your goals.
I find that extremely frustrating.
Despite being written as if they are the one and only truth, these books are merely suggestions for what might work for you, and if you give all of your influence to the author you happen to pick randomly, you run the risk of trusting a suggestion that doesn’t align with your values and may be the wrong approach for YOU.
A good example of absolutes when it comes to the opinions of experts is the role of passion in your life. Some experts will tell you to follow your passions. Others will tell you never to follow your passions–instead, find something you’re good at and allow your passion to develop. And others will tell you passion is overrated.
Who do you believe? Who is right?
What happens if you pick the author who says you should not follow your passion when that is actually the thing you should do and you feel called to do, but you listen to the author because they have written a book?
You might miss out on an amazing experience in life because you picked up the wrong book, listened to the wrong podcast, or watched the wrong Ted Talk.
For the record, my view on passion is that everyone deserves to have something they are passionate about. It could be something they know and pursue, or it could be something they are good at, and the passion develops. It could be their career, or it could be something they do for fun. I guess stating that everyone should have something they are passionate about in their lives might be an absolute but it’s an open-ended absolute–I don’t care how you find it, how large of a role it plays, and if your passion stays consistent…all I care about is everyone having passions in their lives.
I’m not suggesting you stop reading books, listening to podcasts, or watching YouTube videos–in fact, I think you should probably do more of those activities to collect as much information and examples of how you might be able to achieve your goals. But just remember, no matter how good of an argument someone makes, it may not be the right approach for you.
You might be able to take certain aspects of what they suggest, combine them with something from another expert, and blend those with your own beliefs to find the right path for you.
Remember, there are infinite possibilities for how you manifest the life you want and if what feels right to you doesn’t align with the suggestions of a famous author, speaker, or celebrity, it doesn’t mean your approach is wrong.
See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,
