alignment
“When the basis for your actions is inner alignment with the present moment, your actions become empowered by the intelligence of life itself.”
-Eckhart Tolle
“Alignment” has come up a lot in recent conversations I’ve had, and I am seeing/hearing it all around me; obviously, alignment has become an important word and part of my life, so I’m probably more likely to notice it than I would have been in the past, but the more I talk about it, reflect on it, and experience it in my life, the more I believe in the importance for you to find your alignment.
You might be wondering what I mean when I talk about “alignment,” and to be honest, I find it tough to put into words what it is. For me, alignment is a feeling. It’s being in a constant flow state where everything is unfolding the way I’d hope it would without much effort–it’s kind of like in the movies when someone is walking down the dark hall of a scary building, and as they walk, the lights just ahead of them turn on–you can’t see very far ahead but the lights just keep coming on as they walk without interrupting their walk; just when they need the light, it’s there and they don’t have to think about it.
I’m not sure if that even makes sense, but trust me, when you find alignment, you’ll know–you’ll feel it and experience it in your external world as well.
What’s even tougher is that, at least right now, I believe there is no Universal formula for finding alignment.
However, I do know what has worked for me, and I can share on a high level to give you a direction to pursue if you’re seeking alignment. I’ll warn you that this path is not specific–it’s a few categories of focus that you will need to find your authentic way to practice.
Before we get to the areas of practice, the first step of finding alignment is letting go of everything that is not YOU. Maybe you can’t immediately give them up, but mentally, you can acknowledge that certain things and people in your life are not in alignment with your authentic Self. By letting go, even mentally, of these things and people, you allow your Self the space to be open to receiving what is true to you.
I’ll assume you are more connected to your authentic Self than you have been before and ready to find the alignment within to bring you closer and maintain it as your authentic life evolves, so you’re ready for the categories that have helped me live in alignment:
spirit
mind
body
That’s it. That’s all the direction I can give you.
Find a way to connect with your spiritual Self, your soul.
Find a way to control the voice in your head and your beliefs.
Find a way to take control of your physical body.
It doesn’t matter how you practice these–you’ve got to do what is authentic to you.
The alignment of spirit, mind, and body will pull everything in your life into alignment with you, bringing you to the constant flow state and also allowing you to quickly return when you fall out of alignment, which you will.
Once you find alignment, living outside of it will no longer be an option for you.
See you later today and tomorrow and keep pursuing,
JC
