enjoy the ride

If you are someone who finds your Self living in the future, I want to encourage you to slow down, come back to the present, and enjoy the ride.

I often have to remind my Self that the future version of my Self I’m excited to experience will be there when the time is right and to think less about the future and more about the now.

Recently, one way I’ve found it easier to stay in the now is through learning.

I know there is a lot that I don’t know–I will quickly admit that I know very little, but the more I read (currently books on Jesus by Richard Rohr and Erwin McManus), the more excited I get to learn.

I’m making new connections on how to better explain the authentic life, discovering examples of the alignment of spirit, mind, and body, and expanding my knowledge base to hopefully communicate in ways that will resonate with even more people.

I’m too excited to learn in the now to be thinking about the future; the things I'm learning now will be important things for my future Self to know.

Maybe learning isn’t the “thing” that keeps you in the now.

Find something that keeps you engaged and excited, keeping you in this present moment, the only moment that ever exists.

Note: Learning is not the only thing in my life that keeps me present or makes me want to be present—there’s my family and the limited number of summers I have left with the boys, there are my clients, and there is my understanding of the present moment. I just realized this morning, as I was sharing a little about one of the books I’m reading with Ang, how my excitement about learning has kept me more present and thinking less about my future Self.

📝 LifeDesign+ LifeDesign+ is rooted in the Kinder Institute of Life Planning’s EVOKE process, which is a five-step process to help discover what your authentic life looks like and begin to design a plan to bring that life to reality. It continues to incorporate the alignment of your spirit, mind, and body to ensure you evolve with your authentic life, as the authentic life is not a destination, it’s an evolution.

📈 LifeDesign+ for financial advisors LifeDesign+ for financial advisors mirrors the LifeDesign+ relationship, including the focus on the alignment of spirit, mind, and body, with an important distinction—once the plan for your authentic life has been designed, we shift our focus to integrating your new plan with your practice.

🤝 Outsourced life planning As your outsourced life planner, you bring me in to take your client through the Kinder Institute of Life Planning’s EVOKE process to help them better understand who they are, what they want their life to look like, and create a vision of this life for you to execute on the financial plan. Since you are their financial advisor, you will be a part of each of the meetings, so you understand the “why” behind your client’s new plan.
