There Are No Absolutes

The world does not operate in absolutes.

The self-help experts, gurus, and self-proclaimed thought leaders won’t tell you this because it doesn’t feed their agenda–it’s harder to sell a book or course that provides different options for accomplishing your goal rather than a single solution. They know consumers want to be told what to do. We want the quick path to improving our finances, losing weight, or finding our passions. We don’t want to have to continue to try to find the right approach for us.

Now, these absolutes that exist will work. They are a“right” answer...just not for everyone.

If you find you don’t align with one person’s approach, it doesn’t mean your end goal is not achievable. It just means that person’s way of getting there isn’t the right way for you. Don’t feel as if the version of yourself you seek is unachievable because the truth is you are one step closer to finding YOUR path.

So, remember:

  • There is no one right diet–vegetarian, Paleo, vegan, etc. they all work for different people.

  • There is no one right way to manage your money–budget strictly, no budget, invest a lot, keep a lot of cash, etc. they all work for different people.

  • There is no right way to find your authentic life–follow your passion, allow your passion to develop in your work, don’t even think about your passion, etc. they all work for different people.

Since there are no absolutes you will have to experiment with different approaches to find the one authentic path for YOU. Enjoy the process of experimenting as you learn more about yourself and move closer to your authentic Self–even if your goal is related to health, money, or something else. It’s all connected and leads you to your authentic Self.

Take those absolutes with a grain of salt and don’t lose confidence if they don’t work for you–you’ll eventually find the right approach, which could be a melting pot of all of the “absolutes”.

As I think about it, I wonder if I’m violating my own rule…is saying the world doesn’t operate in absolutes…an absolute in itself? 🤷‍♂️

See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,

JC
