passion
“Consider that it might not have been your initial style that attracted success, but your personal passion within it. So if your passion changes course, follow it. Your trust in your instincts and excitement are what resonate with others.”
- Rick Rubin
I may not talk about passion as much as I did in the early days of the Daily Notes and my discovery of the authentic life, but it’s still as important to me and my approach to helping others live aligned with their authentic Self.
Yesterday, in my weekly meeting with my coach, Phil, we discussed my energy—specifically, my ability to transfer my high energy and optimism to others—as one of my gifts and tools that has and will continue to help me guide others to their authentic lives. He asked me a very important question, “How do you ensure you do not run out of energy?”
I shared how I feel like I have infinite energy when I’m having passionate and exciting conversations with people I like and see potential in. I also acknowledged that I think it is going to be very important to maintain my personal alignment of spirit, mind, and body to ensure that I will be able to tap into the Infinite Source of energy, which is where I think my transferrable energy comes from—I am a conduit of energy from a Higher Power to those who are seeking it for their Self.
In the early days of this exploration, I shared how passion has always acted as one of my guides—following my passions and allowing them to evolve has taken me on an incredible journey that has led me to where I find my Self today. Passion will always be one of my guides. But, now I understand it also has to be present in not just the work that I’m doing but conversations and the people I’m working with. Passion in my work and the conversations and people may seem like the same thing, but I think they are different—I can be passionate about life planning, coaching, and advising but find my Self in situations where the conversations and direction the other individual is going does not trigger passion in me.
Passion is becoming even more important for me.
It is an important connector that brings me the energy that I need not only for my Self, but also to transfer to those who are passionate and excited about pursuing their authentic lives.
So take this as a reminder always to have some passion in your life, seek to increase it where you can, and allow it to grow in areas you may not have thought necessary.
See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,
