Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist

In the very first “book report” episode of LifeDesign+, I share my love of Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist. I’ve talked about this book on multiple podcast episodes, have written about it in Daily Notes, and have given away countless copies of it. I have a very special story for my introduction to the book, which you will hear in this episode.

This episode was by far the hardest episode, and maybe piece of content, I’ve ever recorded; not because the subject matter was hard, but trying to go through the book and cover everything I wanted to share proved to be a bigger task than I anticipated. For example, finding a clean way to organize my thoughts ended up being a combination of a Notion database, notes in my actual book, and scribbles in a notebook—not very efficient and I’ll find my way as I do more of these episodes each month.

I would be remiss if I didn’t show some love to the creator of episodes, at least in my world, David Senra. David is the host of The Founders Podcast, which is a fascinating podcast—one of my favorites. In each of his episode David breaks down biographies of the world’s greatest leaders, CEO’s, founders, and entrpreneurs. I highly recommend you check it out and pay attention to the common characteristics of these founders and the message you read and hear here!

If you’ve read the Alchemist or get a copy after hearing this episode please share some of YOUR favorite part of the book and how it impacted you—I think it would be cool to put together a montage of your quotes to share with the world. You can DM me on Twitter (never gonna call it X), LinkedIn, or email jc at justincastelli.io.

I hope you enjoy this episode—I poured a lot of my soul into this one and can’t wait to do another one!
