Trust Your Intuition

“Intuition is the whisper of the soul.”

-Jiddu Krishnamurti

We live in a world with endless feedback and opinions from others about what you should be doing.

Don’t spend money on “x”.

Follow your passion (to be fair and include what I encourage).

Don’t follow your passion, find something you’re good at and allow your passion to develop.

Eat this, not that.

Don’t take risks.

That will never work.

Now, not all feedback is negative like the few I highlighted, but positive feedback rarely keeps you from pursuing your authentic life. It’s the negative feedback that holds you back from pursuing paths that could lead you to see landscapes you would have never seen, to reference a Rick Rubin quote from another Daily Note, and ultimately living your authentic life.

The feedback and advice you receive from others will often conflict with what your intuition is telling you. I’m not sure about the science behind this, I’m sure some study explains it, but we are more likely to listen to the feedback of others than our own intuition. It’s almost as if we don’t trust this feeling within us, because that’s how our intuition communicates–“trust your gut”, and have to rely upon what others say, even though they don’t know the full story behind whatever it is we are pursuing.

It’s good to get feedback from people you trust and even from the anonymous folks who love to interject their kind words of wisdom on the internet–this feedback can help identify things you may have overlooked. View their feedback as input to consider, but not a deciding influence, and look within for guidance you need.

Trust your intuition.

As Jiddu Krishnamurti reminds us, your intuition is a quiet communication from your soul and your soul is your direct connection to a Higher Power–what more do you need?

See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,

JC
