Why So Few Notes On Money?
You might be wondering why there hasn’t been more talk about “money” in these Daily Notes…after all, the phrase is spirit, mind, body, and MONEY. Well, that’s simple….in the pursuit of your authentic life, money is the least important.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying money isn’t important in life–it’s very important in providing safety, comfort, and experiences in your life, but when aligning your spirit, mind, body, and money, it falls fourth in line.
I decided early in writing the Daily Notes that I was not going to spend time writing about the basics of personal finance, investing, or money management. There are plenty of great financial blogs that cover those topics and if there was a topic that I felt I needed to write about, I’d write it over on All About Your Benjamins. Instead, any writing about money in the Daily Notes will be centered around how the alignment of your spirit, mind, and body influences how you manage your money.
Finally, the topic of money becomes easier and less stressful when you have found your authentic life.
Many of our money decisions are made as we seek to find our authentic life. We try to keep up with the Joneses, buying things we don’t really want or need because the Jones family seems happy, or we attach our identity to material possessions because we think that’s what were supposed to do or what others expect from us, or we seek happiness through spending money only to realize no amount of money will truly make us happy until we find happiness within our Self.
With the alignment of your spirit, mind, and body, your decisions with money become easier to make and then you can build a financial plan that brings you closer to your authentic life.
See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,
