You Are A Winner

You are a winner.

Even if you don’t see a successful person with many wins throughout life when you look in the mirror, you are in fact a winner and you need to start seeing yourself as one.

Confidence is one of the most important beliefs you need when pursuing your authentic life.

Your pursuit is going to take you to new places, provide different experiences and opportunities, and lead you down paths that have been lightly traveled (if traveled at all) and in different directions than where you’ve been sent in the past. Without confidence, you will struggle to follow your passions and venture closer toward your authentic life.

Your pursuit will be challenged:

  • Friends and family will question why you want to give up something “so great”.

  • You’ll question how you will make it all work.

  • You’ll see all of the risks and ways to fail.

  • People will tell you that your idea won’t work or is stupid.

  • Trolls on social media will look to tear you down as you share your authentic life.

  • You’ll second guess the decision you made and consider going back to the life you left behind.

Confidence in your Self will help you through those challenges.

If you don’t see the winner that you are when you look in the mirror think back over your life at all of the wins you’ve had–the little wins, the medium wins, and the massive wins. They are all there, you just need to look for them.

  • You learned to ride a bike

  • You had a lemonade stand as a little kid

  • You won an art contest

  • You got an A on a hard test

  • You made athletic teams, bands, dance teams, etc.

  • You learned to drive

  • You graduated high school

  • You graduated college

  • You got your first job

  • You hit a sales goal

  • You paid off debt

  • You saved a sum of money

  • You set a personal goal and achieved it

  • You lost weight

  • You completed a 5k

  • You lifted a certain amount of pounds

  • You got married

  • You made someone else happy

  • You helped a friend get a job

  • You started a business

  • You recovered from a “failure”

  • You escaped a tough neighborhood

  • You saved a life

  • You created a life

The list of examples of “wins” in life is infinite—hopefully, your mind is flowing with examples from your life of you winning. It is unlikely many of these wins ended with you standing on a podium in 1st place with a blue ribbon or gold medal–most of life’s wins are less recognized by others but much more impactful than winning a race, match, or game.

You have won more times than you have lost—you might just be anchoring to the losses because they seem to hurt more than the wins and that pain is not even including the damage others might have done to you over the years as well. It’s hard to see yourself as a winner when someone else, who is hurting inside and can’t see their own wins, tells you you’re everything but a winner.

I’m here to tell you that you are in fact a winner. Create your own list of wins and use those wins to build your confidence.

Your confidence will give you the ability to trust your intuition, your vision, and your preparation for the next phase in the pursuit of your authentic life–it’ll help you shorten and make the leap of faith. It will also help you pick yourself back up and keep moving toward your authentic life when you get knocked down, which will happen. Confidence doesn’t prevent challenges, it helps you get through them and keep moving toward your authentic life.

Hopefully, you will attract people in your life who support you and give you additional confidence but until they arrive you have a catalog of wins throughout your life to build your own confidence and keep pursuing your authentic life.

See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,

JC
