it’ll never be easier to focus on your health

It will never be easier to get into shape and improve your health than today. We all know how important it is to be healthy, how resilient yet fragile our bodies are, and that we should do our best to care for this one body we receive.

Yet, the majority of us push getting back into shape, losing some weight, and eating better off to some future date that most likely will only get pushed out further until we experience some sort of wake-up call.

There will always be a reason not to take better care of your Self–and 99.9% of us can all stand to do better, my Self included. The thing that scares me and has me focusing even more on my health is that many times when that wake-up call comes, it’s too late to reverse whatever damage we’ve done to our bodies. And at that moment, I bet you’d be willing to spend any amount of money or do whatever you could to reverse the damage or go back in time to change your habits.

Don’t wait.

Early this week, I saw somewhere on social media a comment that made me think twice; I can’t remember the exact wording, but it was something to the extent of “only in America is it normal to drink regularly, eat unhealthy, rely on prescriptions, and not get adequate exercise and weird to prioritize health.”

Now, that statement isn’t fully true, but it also isn’t false.

If you’re waiting to prioritize your health and take care of your body, it won’t get easier to do so in the future. You’ll have the same busy schedule–the details may look different, but you’ll always be “busy.” Your body will be older– it’s easier to lose weight in your 30’s and 40’s than it is in your 60’s. You may have ailments that cannot be reversed.

Don’t wait any longer—start prioritizing taking care of your physical Self today, and do your best to avoid future regrets of wishing you had done things differently when you could.

See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,

JC
