Passion Is Your Guide
This week the folks at The Nasdaq did me a huge favor. They highlighted what might have been the most important clip from my appearance on my best friend Tyrone Ross Jr.’s podcast, Queue and A, last year.
In the PRST (for those new this is pronounced '“pursuit” and is the brand I launched to help individuals like you connect their spirit, mind, body, and money in PRST of your authentic life) of your authentic life there will be many influences but only one guide—and that guide are the passion(s) in your life.
Your passions will change throughout your life; some may stay with you the entire journey and some will be chapters of your life and some might even be so short-lived it might seem like a waste—don’t worry it wasn’t.
Despite what other professionals and authors claim, there is no singular way to find your passion. There is also no singular way for the role your passion will play in your life.
Some of us already know what are passions are. Others will find it through the career they fall into or choose.
Some of us will have our passion actually become our career. Others will see it be an important complement to the career that provides for them and their family.
Taking the stance of everyone should be following the passions in their life but do so in different ways, unique to what is best for that individual isn’t controversial enough to sell a book or a course or become a professional speaker on the subject.
Those are all goals of mine, and will happen when the time is right, but I’m willing for it to take longer to stay true to my authentic Self and live my authentic life.
There is no right way to find or incorporate passion into YOUR life—only you can feel the role it needs to play in the present moment.
The only absolute I see is that you should know what you are passionate about, find time, space, and energy for it in your life—make it a priority, follow where it leads you and don’t be afraid to allow it to evolve into a new passion.
It is your guide.
Passion comes from the heart, which just so happens to be your direct connection to The Universe, or Higher Power. When you have a connection to and alignment of spirit, mind, and body, your heart and passion will lead you to your authentic life.
