Protecting Yes
Saying “no” has always been hard for me, especially because saying yes has been so good for me, or so it appears to have been.
However, embracing the power of saying no in order to protect my opportunity to say “yes” is an important focus for me from now on.
Reflecting over the last 8 ½ years of entrepreneurship and having the ability to follow my interests and passions, saying yes to everything was important to find my “thing”—my purpose.
Well, I found it.
And now that I’ve found it, saying no (or not right now) is becoming a lot easier because I have a clear North Star to follow—if the opportunity doesn’t move the message of authentically living forward, it’s a no.
I’ve been encouraged for years by people who want the best for me to say no more often, so this understanding I’ve finally accepted is not a new concept for me. I’ve known it and understood it, but I wasn’t ready to commit to it.
And now I am.
Depending on where you are in your Pursuit, keep saying yes, but be mindful that the sooner you can get to saying no, the sooner your yes’s become more impactful.
See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,
