You Can’t Please Everybody

Kendrick Lamar reminds us numerous times in his song Crown that “you can’t please everybody”---he even reminds his Self he can’t please everybody by repeating, “I can’t please everybody.”

And by reminding his Self, he reinforces that you cannot please everyone.

As you align with your authentic life, you need to accept that the version of your Self you are becoming will not make everyone happy—and it’s not YOUR job to make everyone else happy; it’s not your job to please everyone. And, “you can’t please everybody.”

That’s not permission to be a jerk and intentionally try to upset others. Instead, I hope it comes as a reminder or maybe even permission, if I’m somehow allowed to permit others to do anything, to walk as your authentic Self, knowing that you are giving the world the best version of YOU and that there will always be people who do not like you, the life you are living, or what you represent.

The issues these individuals have are not actually about you; it’s with their Self.

Buried traumas, regrets within their own lives, jealousy, false narratives, and several other emotions cause individuals to dislike those who can live their lives as you are. The unhappiness, frustration, and sadness in these individuals are projected onto you, and if you allow it to, it can disrupt the authentic version of you if you attempt to change to make everybody happy.

And sometimes it may not be that deep; you’re just not going to be everyone’s cup of tea.

“You can’t please everybody.”

As long as you know you are pursuing your authentic life as the most authentic version of your Self, you’re maintaining your alignment of spirit, mind, and body, and are operating from a state of service and love, then you should be able to continue your Pursuit without worry of having to please everybody else.

We are responsible for our own happiness—not you.

And, if you are bringing the best version of your Self to the world, that is the greatest gift you can do and all you can do to “please everybody else.”

See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,

JC
