What Kind Of Company Do You Keep?

Suppose the people you are surrounded by don’t support you, operate with low energy and see the world through negative lenses. In that case, it will be nearly impossible to escape your current situation for the life you desire. Misery loves company, and you'll remain miserable if you don’t change the people you are with.

This is also true if you find your Self surrounded by people who do not align with you in other ways like morals, honesty, the importance of family, focus on health, etc.

Epictetus said the company you keep should not only lift you up but push you to be your best. 

Pursuing the life you desire is going to challenge you enough on its own, and there is no reason to compound the challenges because of the people you choose to be surrounded by.
