much needed time in nature
“How important is a constant intercourse with nature and the contemplation of natural phenomena to the preservation of moral and intellectual health!”
— Henry David Thoreau
We are heading up to New Buffalo, Michigan, for our annual family vacation at Lake Michigan. While I’ll still be doing some work while I’m up there–the downside of being an entrepreneur is not fully being able to step away from work, but the minor downside is more than worth it for me–the week in New Buffalo is usually one of relaxation and uninterrupted family time.
I’m really looking forward to this slower week after what has been a much busier-than-expected summer.
In addition to a slower pace, I’m looking forward to more time out in nature—at the beach, in the water, watching the boys fish, and walking to and fro, everything in town.
I’m not sure what the rest of this week’s Daily Notes will look like; well, I’m never sure what they will look like, but I told my Self as I was packing last night that I’m putting no pressure on my Self to write Daily Notes this week—if the Universe decides to give me a break, then I’ll take a break. I doubt that will be the case, but depending on when we start our mornings, how we start them, and what the days end up looking like, I might write notes later in the day, still in the morning, or not at all.
I’m interested to see how the week unfolds for the Daily Notes.
So, this is just a little heads up that I’m leaving the door open to an inconsistent week of Daily Notes, but I’ll be back to the normal schedule next Monday at the latest—and a reminder from Thoreau to get out and connect more with nature this week!
See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,
