distractions
Distractions are everywhere.
And I feel like they are more prevalent than ever. I’m not sure why the distractions exist and seem to be increasing every day, but I see them, which I view as a positive because as soon as I recognize the distraction, I can make sure I’m no longer distracted by it.
There are theories on distractions being orchestrated to keep us from noticing something “bigger” going on, which in itself is just another distraction.
Everything that does not align with your Pursuit, the important people in your life, and moving you closer to your authentic life is a distraction; what is a distraction to you might not be to someone else, and that’s ok.
And sometimes we need distractions to give our Self a break and a chance to relax–choosing to be distracted as a form of entertainment is less problematic.
Being distracted and not being aware of your distractions is the problem. Since you aren’t aware that you are being distracted, you become emotionally invested in the distraction and spend more time being distracted by it–only to look back and realize you have wasted time and energy that you cannot get back that did nothing to help you live your authentic life.
As we get further into this year, expect more distractions to fight for your attention; choose how and why you allow your Self to be distracted carefully.
See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,
