authenticity is mutually beneficial

“Authenticity is a collection of choices that we have to make every day. It's about the choice to show up and be real. The choice to be honest. The choice to let our true selves be seen.”

- Brene Brown

Finding the ability to show up each day as your authentic Self is not just good for you, but it’s good for the world.

If you can’t fully be your Self all the time (or most of the time), surely you can think of an experience when you were able to embrace your authenticity and just be you…go ahead, think about one of those times.

How did you feel?
How do you feel right now as you think about that experience?

Probably pretty good.
Definitely happy.
Free, right?

You have the right and ability to experience that more often if not all of the time–I’m aware of societal issues that might prevent people from feeling as if they can be authentic at all times, although I hope to eventually put a dent in those systematic restrictions.

I mentioned your authenticity is not just good for you, but it’s good for the world.

First, if you’re feeling good, happy, and free, then you are probably spreading that energy to others and making the world a happier place.

Secondly, if you’re feeling good, happy, and free, then you are bringing your best version of your Self to all things that you do, which gives the world better outcomes and great impact from you.

Finally, you become an example to others who may not feel confident to live authentically that it can be done and should be done.

The world is a better place when you are the authentic version of your Self you were created to be–for the few reasons I just shared and so many more.

And speaking of finding the confidence to live authentically…

I’m excited to announce the first guest in the Keep Pursuing webinar series. I shared last week on social media that I was putting together a seven-part webinar series to build upon the speaking Keep Pursuing Series from last fall (more talks coming soon!).

The first webinar is titled “growing business with authenticity”, will feature my good friend Samantha Russell, and is sponsored by The AGC™ (Advisors Growing As A Community).

It's going down on May 22nd, at 2:00 EST via Zoom.

If you’re in the world of finance, you know and love Samantha not only because of the great marketing, branding, and website content she has blessed the financial advisor community with over the last few years but also because she is one of the most genuine and authentic people in finance. I’m excited to collaborate with her again in what will certainly be a webinar unlike any you’ve attended before. We’ll be discussing the importance of being authentic with your clients and how to lean into your authenticity with you marketing, branding, and website.

In fact, the Keep Pursuing Webinar series will be less webinar and more live podcast recording/fireside chat with some actionable items you’d expect from a webinar. We’ll be monitoring the chat for Q&A opportunities during the conversation, not just at the end, like most webinars.

The intended audience for the Keep Pursuing Series are my financial advisor peers, BUT that does not mean you cannot attend if you are not an advisor–the information we will share and the discussion we will have will be relevant to anyone pursuing their authentic life. The takeaways and examples we share might just need a little creative tweaking to them to apply to whatever profession you find your Self in.

But if you are a financial advisor, you DO NOT want to miss this series of webinars!

I’ll be releasing the registration link tomorrow exclusively in The Weekly Note, if you're not getting the Weekly Note (you are reading this on LinkedIn) shoot me a message and let me know and I’ll get you added to the Weekly Notes, which are only available via email.

Registration will go live for everyone else on Monday morning.

See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,

JC
