your celebration is Someone else’s inspiration
Over the weekend, I shared in The AGC™ a “win” I noticed in an effort to not only celebrate the wins in my life but to encourage my fellow advisors to celebrate their wins as well. Too often, we go through life not celebrating milestones, “wins”, or things we are proud of because we are worried about being perceived as cocky, arrogant, or just flat-out bragging to others.
So we continue on, "keep pursuing", and miss opportunities to enjoy the results of our hard work.
There are obviously ways to celebrate the wins in your life that are not as tasteful as others, but as I shared in a conversation with my wife, if the intention of your sharing comes from the heart, is meant with good intentions, and someone else chooses not to like the way you share your excitement, that’s on them. As I’ve written about before, it all goes back to the intention–is your intention to celebrate something exciting in your life, and are you doing it in a way that is genuine and authentic to you? If the answer is yes, celebrate away without worrying about what others think or say—the haters are most likely projecting their frustration of not being able to do something they want onto you; it’s never about you when you receive hate, it’s about them.
You should celebrate your wins not only for yourself but also because your celebration may inspire someone else.
There might be someone who’s been struggling or too intimidated to go after something they have always wanted, but when they see your celebration, it provides hope that they can do it too—one of the traits of the “Greats” I discussed is the mindset that allows someone to say, “if they can do it, so can I.”
Well, if no one knows that you did “it,” then they can’t be inspired to do it, too.
We can all use a little more celebration in our lives–for our Selves and for others.
In case you were wondering what my “wins” were, they all centered around my writing and podcasting:
📝464 Daily Notes in a row
✉️14 Weekly Notes (a few missed weeks in there but never more than 1 at a time)
🎧167 episodes of LifeDesign+ with an episode every Thursday since the beginning of the year
🎤a series of 5 talks at my local coffee shop last fall and now planning for the ‘24 tour of the Keep Pursuing Series.
all of this has led to an evolution of my personal brand to represent my authentic Self both personally and professionally and in just a short time, a couple of months, has resulted in three advisors I’m working with or will be working with in LifeDesign+ on my way to
I’ve been at this content creation game for a minute and I’ve never had the consistency I’ve found right now.
See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,
