tests from the Universe
It’s amazing how fast the Universe moves sometimes.
Yesterday in my meeting with my coach (shoutout to Phil!!) we spent the majority of the hour designing a plan to begin to bring potential clients to the AlignedLife+ and LifeDesign+ relationships; at this time, I’m agnostic as to which relationship begins to attract clients first since they are both founded in the Kinder EVOKE process and transition into an ongoing coaching relationship. But, for the long term, I’m focusing on growing RLS Wealth through AlignedLife+ which brings the alignment of finances into the relationship where LifeDesign+ does not--I’m ready and excited for the growth.
Leading up to yesterday’s meeting I put together a few types of sessions I could offer as a gift to individuals I’d like to work with to give them a chance to experience working with me as a guide/advisor/coach and to see if our energies align– a “get to know” experience if you will. I also compiled a list of people I know I’d like to work with today and believe I could help.
After I shared my “homework” with Phil and we had a chance to talk through it, we discussed the next steps for me—finalizing and developing the language for the offering to share with others, and it was time for our meeting to end.
I had no idea this conversation would put the Universe into action and I’d receive either a test or a potential new client soon.
Later in the day, I had a meeting with an advisor friend of mine to catch up. During the natural progression of our conversation, the topic of coaching came up. He asked me how I found my coach because he thought he might be getting to a stage of life and career where a coach would be a beneficial relationship for him to see. I shared why this is the first time I’ve worked with a coach, how much I’m enjoying it, and how it has impacted how I want to work with clients in the future.
I had this urge to share with him how I have been working with a couple of financial advisors with LifeDesign+, but I kept quiet—I didn’t want to turn this conversation into a pitch to work with me. In my head, I told my Self how I didn’t think the timing would be right, maybe the price was too high, and other reasons to not mention to stay quiet.
But, as he shared more about the help he was interested in, more about his personal beliefs, and where he found his Self in life, I couldn’t help but feel like I would not only love working with him but I could genuinely help him--an ideal opportunity.
I thought to my Self, if I was serious about the work I had done earlier in the day with Phil, I HAD to say something.
I sat and continued to listen nervous about speaking up.
Finally, I said, “man, I have to just throw this out there…maybe you should consider me for the coaching.”
It felt good, and right, to share, and I have no idea whether or not we’ll connect in the future in a LifeDesign+ relationship, and I’m okay with that. The work I am going to do in the future needs to happen at the right time for the individual and to not be forced; so if the timing isn't right, or he decides I’m not the right person for the job, that’s ok.
Yes, I’d love to play a small part in his Pursuit, but I’m just happy I spoke up and said something to him—the old me would have kept quiet; and by old me, I mean me just a month ago.
After I wrapped up that call I sent a voice note to my coach letting him know about the conversation, how quickly the Universe had moved, and that it was one of two things:
A potential client.
A test–was I as ready to take on a client in this new relationship as I said I was?
Regardless of the outcome, this was a great reminder that sometimes the Universe will move at lightning-quick speeds once we put something out there—I said I was ready and the Universe said, “we’ll see.”
I'm hopeful I passed the test and things work with my friend or someone else will come into the picture very soon.
