letting people into your life
“What got you here won’t get you there.”
This quote quickly became a favorite of mine when I first heard it; it’s so obvious, yet so easily forgotten.
Yesterday, I was having a conversation with a couple of my closest friends about how we allocate time and whether or not we should be making time for new people in our lives.
The answer is yes, but only people who are aligned with where your “there” is.
Just like “what” got you here won’t get you there, neither will the “who” in your life.
Some people will continue on with you on your Pursuit of “there” (hopefully your authentic life) and others will not. Those who do not, will make room for new people who will be important contributors in your next wave of evolution.
How do you know who to let in when new people come into your life?
Your intuition will tell you.
Sometimes, it’ll be obvious that you should begin to get to know this new person.
Other times, your brain will tell you that you should spend time with someone, but your heart is steering you away from them.
You may also experience your brain telling you to stay clear of someone, but your heart is telling you to welcome them into your life.
Trust your intuition when it comes to welcoming new people into your life.
Remember, your authentic life is an evolution. That evolution is not just of your Self, but of the people who you surround your Self with.
