the other side of the coin
Two important takeaways from today’s note:
1. Surround your Self with creative friends like my friend Matthew Zeigler who you can chat with regularly to discover new ways to share your ideas—not just for others, but for your Self. The next takeaway is a result of this–thanks, Matt!
2. If you are having trouble connecting with your authentic Self because you’re focusing on who you think you are or are supposed to be, take a look at the other side of the coin and examine who you are NOT or don’t want to be.
Sometimes you can find the answer to our questions in the negative space—the person you are not and don’t want to be can help you identify who you are and are meant to be.
As I thought more about the other side of the coin this morning, I think I’ll go so far as to suggest that even if you feel confident in your alignment with your authentic Self through the lens of who you are, still take a look at the other side of the coin to see what else you learn.
