A new blog?
For the last three, almost four, years I've been writing over on my blog All About Your Benjamins. When I launched AAYB, I envisioned it being primarily for my clients and individuals--I never anticipated an audience of financial advisors. But, as the blog post count grew, I realized that just as many financial advisors were subscribing and reading AAYB as non-advisors, which I took as a huge compliment.
Over the last year and a half I've spent a lot of time talking with other financial advisors—trading notes on best practices, talking about creating content, discussing whether or not advisors should launch their own firms, and anything else you can think of relating to being a financial advisor. I’ve really enjoyed connecting with advisors across the country, and in a few cases, the world—I’ve learned a lot!
Those conversations have inspired me to change the direction of the growth of my business—slowing the growth of RLS Wealth Management by limiting new clients to referrals only; the time that would have been spent working with new clients—creating financial plans, implementing recommendations, and everything else that goes with the onboarding process will be dedicated to working with other financial advisors.
I am a firm believer in the power of creating content to grow with the right clients—it’s what I’ve done for RLSWM and it’s what I’m going to do to work with more financial advisors; I wrote a blog post on AAYB that shared my belief that as more good financial advisors get discovered, the better our profession becomes, which makes us all better.
And THAT is why I’ve decided to launch a new blog—specifically for financial advisors.
All About Your Benjamins will still exist and there will be fresh content over there, but it will be for clients and individuals. The Talkin’ Shop videos, blog posts for the advisor community, and a bunch of fresh content about the future of our profession, marketing, branding, content, and so much more—I’ve got a lot to say—will live here on The Advisor Of Tomorrow.
I’m excited and can’t wait to get to creating over here now!
