By now you've surely heard about the benefits of focusing on working with a specific group of individuals; building your practice around a niche has a number of benefits, and I know an increasing number of financial advisors experiencing growth because of their focus on their niche.

Before you begin stressing over finding your niche, I have one final thought--while I have become an advocate for developing a niche, I am a firm believer that you should not force a niche. As Chad and I discuss, focus in a certain direction and allow the niche to find you. So, if you do not have a niche, don't worry. Keep taking good care of your clients, pay attention to the types of people you like working with, and direct your efforts to attract more people that fit that avatar. Before long you'll look back and find yourself with a niche.
